Last year, Lady Gaga costumes were on fire! Somehow though, the high prices of Halloween costumes seem unfair rather than reasonable. So here’s a few tips + ideas on how to get your favourite pop-star’s look on a budget.
Lady Gaga
Hair: If you’re not blonde, you may have to invest in a costume wig (don’t worry, these are usually cheap!) If you do have blonde hair, add some length by putting in clip-in extensions. Fold two pieces in half (to make loops) and clip into place on top of the head, this will be for her signature bow.
Outfit: Lady Gaga is known for her outrageous outfits, so put on your sky-high heels. grab a romper (black), add lots of studded accessories or make your own by going to a craft store and investing in a stud gun.
Makeup: Lastly, take a black eyeliner pencil and outline a lightning bolt over your eye, fill in with a fat black eye crayon.
Katy Perry (Last Friday Night)
Hair: Tease your hair from the roots and use LOT’S of hairspray, then throw it up in a high pony!
Outfit: Think 80’s! Vibrant, neon colours. in the video Katy wears a green stretch skirt, hot pink sweater with multiple plastic bangles and earrings. You don’t exactly have to follow these colours, as long as they’re bright, and well accessorized you can pull it off!
Makeup: Don’t worry so much about blending, the 80’s were all about harsh blush and bright colours. Apply blue eyeshadow with a pink crease, pink lips and pink blush. Also opi nail polish made colours exclusively for Last Friday Night, see if you can get your hands on some to complete the look!
Rihanna
Hair: Get a red costume wig to get Rihannas hair.
Outfit: She loves to wears prints, and bold colours, so the key here is to really mix and match and see what you come up with.
Makeup: Finish with a smokey eye and soft lip. Bring a mic, and let them know who you are superstar!
Nicki Minaj
Hair: Wear your signature pink wig and match a lip shade that’s similar to it.
Outfit: Nicki is big, and pink is her thing. Wear anything pink or girly that reminds you of being a plastic barbie doll.
Makeup: If you’re going for a “Super Bass” look add the brightest yellow shade you can find to your lids. Remember, colour, colour, colour! Nicki’s personality is just as vibrant as what she wears, so play the part.
