It’s almost time to throw those winter boots back in the closet because spring has nearly arrived. So while you’re counting down until March Madness, check out our round up of the season’s must-have shoes and treat yourself a little early. Here are the spring 2012 shoes to pick up now.

Oxfords

Another spring, another oxford push. But while the gentleman trend has continued into spring 2012, light-toned and pastel oxfords work perfectly with the season’s it-colours. Lace-up pistachio or sorbet-toned footwear work perfectly alongside light cigarette pants, and help make a silhouette-hugging dress seem a little more casual. For an office look, pair them with pleated dress shorts and a blazer – and don’t feel bad about wanting to take that look into the weekend.

This spring, casual sport gets amped up in a big way thanks to designers like Chanel and Chris Benz who showcased high tops in bright colours and bold prints. Thankfully, sneakers aren’t a shoe that screams “warm weather,” so if you’re hoping to pair the spring must-have with your winter wardrobe, opt for skinny jeans and a sheer button-up blouse. You can also don a plain tank top with shorts and tights for an M.I.A.-esque look (minus the Super Bowl incident).

Wedges this spring are different: in addition to the typical wedge boot we’ve seen for two years, several designers and brands went for a peep-toe look that’s a little more feminine. More retro than futuristic, you can pair them with the ‘20s aesthetic dictating spring 2012 – especially silk pieces and knee-length sequined dresses.
