Remember the time Neil Patrick Harris defined “the best”, and then seemed to continually keep getting better? That’s right: just when you didn’t think he could get any more awesome, the actor/comedian/Broadway caliber-singer added “father” to his repertoire, announcing recently that he and his longtime partner, David Burtka, are expecting twins this October.
According to sources, the two have enlisted the help of a surrogate after looking into agencies at some point last year. And in a statement to the media, Patrick Harris revealed: “So get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall. We’re super excited/nervous/thrilled. Hoping the press can respect our privacy …” (No worries, Neil – as long as this article doesn’t count as a violation, of course.)
So Hollywood has officially been blessed with two new cool dads that will give the current “awesome A-list fathers” a run for their money (if there is such a competition). Not only well-rounded and genuinely down-to-earth, it seems almost obvious that Neil and David will raise two amazing children who (hopefully) reflect their parents’ lack of egos and pretentiousness (which we all know is quite rare in Tinsel Town). Now let’s hope they’re both raised on Dr. Horrible’s Sing-A-Long Blog.
