Yesterday we mentioned the rumours that Kristen Stewart had cheated on Robert Pattinson with Snow White And The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, and unfortunately -- for Robert Pattinson and Sanders' wife in particular -- they weren't rumours at all.
A few hours after People and Us Weekly had broken the story, Kristen Stewart issued a formal apology, saying "I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused those close to me and everyone this has affected. The momentary indescretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."
Yikes. And naturally, there's more to it.
Only two weeks ago, Rupert Sanders' wife (and mother of his children), admitted that because of relocating from London to Los Angeles, she was beginning to feel isolated and at times even felt like a "single mom." Then, add Kristen Stewart's recent ELLE magazine declaration that she "[wanted] something crazy to . . . happen to [her]" and that she wanted someone to "[f--- her over]" into the mix and we have a recipe for disaster -- or at least for a lot of broken hearts and trust issues.
Meanwhile, Twihards the world over are mourning the demise of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, while the rest of us watch cringing at the ever-worsening wreckage. Here's hoping it comes to an end soon.
